Unhappy A/C Problem........

I had a shop replaced my a/c compressor and drier and refill it with some refrigerant and for some reason, my ac only gets cold when im in the shade or at night when its cool. During the day, the AC is not cold even on full blast, its just blowing in air. Im from NorCal and this whole month, the weather has been around 110'... really hot. Any suggestions?

That is a weird problem you have there, maybe the a/c compressor is no good. If it works and you feel the cold air at night that means it's working right? But probably it's just too hot that it heats up the cold air very quickly in the afternoons. You must either be in the east or north bay area, its been very hot here in the bay area all week long!!! I should be complaining more than you, my home's a/c is broken!!!!! lol

Have the A/C pressures checked. I would not return to the shop that originally replaced the parts.

On the 2000, is the drier a part of the condensor up front? Are you sure it was replaced?

An A/C speciality repair would be recommended.

I dont know about you but i use recirculated air and it's better than the air outside. It's pretty humid and hot down in socal too (~100) and my AC blows cold air. I roll down the windows and it feels as if I just turned on my heater to the max
