Talking Hello from Thailand

Hi guys. I'm newbie here. Just got myself a lexus. What a great site. I have been reading and finding so much information here.

Just want to introduce myself and post up the pics of my car. A few details..

My car is actually a Toyota Aristo.. You all know it's the same as 2nd Gen GS300 but I believe it got different engine from what they're selling in US. I was actually looking for a GS300 for a while but from where I'm from Lexus GS came with 3000cc non turbo and NO sun roof. On the other hand, the Aristo come with 2JZ-GTE (same engine as the supra) 3000cc twin turbo and sun roof.. So I decide to go with the Aristo and make it my own Lexus...

Welcome to CL! Awesome looking car you have here, and many will be envious of that engine of yours I like those wheels a lot too, they really standout against the white paint

Don't think i'll do much else with the car.. except get an aftermarket security system. I only have ONE key now WITHOUT remote... it's a pity that i got a nice looking car but have to walk up to the door to stick the key in to unlock it..

I talked to the lexus dealer here and they're just looking to rip me off. They say any aftermarket will NOT work with Lexus... but from what I heard in this forum I think I'll give it a try. and just to proof that things ain't that cheap in the east.. a new Lexus key with remote will cost me equilvalent of 450US$ at the dealer.... Oh I can try buying a blank key from ebay but they won't promise that it would work.. (basically i have to buy from them otherwise they won't make it work for me)...

Here is the pic of the engine. You can see the big intake and the two turbo hanging off from the usual 2J engine. I got better pic of the wheels & brakes which I'll post later.

Any comment on the security system which one should I get? I read a few thread recommending viper & clifford.. Not even sure if they sell them here. Any problem after installing the aftermarket stuff? The guy at the dealer scare me off pretty good.

Thinking about getter Borla exhaust too. Any comment? The custom set I got here is a bit too loud sitting idle but sound awesome when I floor the gas and a really really cool blow off when I lift up.

After seeing 4GRAINR car I think i might add a roof spoiler as well.

Anyway.. Hello from Thailand and thanks for all the reply.. I hope you will accept this Aristo as a Lexus..

kamnan, I am so sorry you could not find a GS. In fact, I feel so bad, I am willing to trade you my GS for your Aristo. I know, I know, that is very generous of me, but hey, we CL members do like to make sure we help out our fellow members.
