When adjusting the sensitivity of the a/c sniffer, does +1,+2,+3 make it more sensitive? The owners manual is not clear on this adjustment. I was behind a stinkin diesel truck in traffic and the system was not switching itself to recirculate as it supposedly should. I want it to switch as soon as it senses air pollution. Where does everyone have theirs set?

Do you have it in auto mode ? Two lights should be on . Middle light on plus either the outside air ( far right light ) or inside air ( far left light ) .

I have mine with the outside air plus auto mode on . When it smells bad air it switches to the inside air or recirculate mode.

I have my sensitivity on the factory settings and it works fine . Not sure about the plus 1,2,or 3 . Maybe you can just leave on the inside air mode . No switching.

Hope this helps!

Speedracer, increasing positive #s represent increasing sensitivity, therefore decreasing the stink threshold that must be reached to switch to recirculate.

But I've gotten so used to pre-emptive action from my previous vehicles that it's just habit to switch when I see the big black diesel cloud head my way!

I have mine in "+3", and it works great; I never smell exhaust odors, BUT it has to be in "auto" mode. It also stays in recirculation mode longer as a result, but that's fine with me. I wish the stupid system stayed where you put it, but it doesn't, so you have to put it in auto every time you turn the air or the car on (pain in the butt).
Hope this helps.

I'm not sure what you mean by what you said. I've never noticed a setting not holding. I'm not sure I'm following you.
