Yesterday, i got a good size rock chip in the center of my windshield... Just wondering how Lexus handles these and if they're covered under warranty. I'd like the windshield replaced. I have a 2000 GS4.

Thanks,

-Corey

hi corey, sorry to hear about your mishap. had the same thing happen to me on an already bad day a few months back. i don't think lexus will deal with it because they just don't have the capability to do anything anyhow. its also not a manufacturer issue that there's a crack. of course, i'm just guessing so do call to make sure. if not, you HAVE to go to a windshield shop and have it fixed. they'll apply something to the crack and nearly make it disappear even if it is a big one. i left mine alone and eventually the thing broke from the bottom driver side all the way up to the center of the whole thing. insurance covered the replacement, but still. good luck

I got a large rock chip directly if front of the driver seat about 3 inches down from the top. I had it repaired, you can still see it but you have to look real hard. Most insurance companies will do repairs for free. It won't be covered under warranty unless it is a stress crack. I didn't want a new windshield for a rock chip because you probably won't get a Lexus windshield, but after market, and it won't say Lexus down in the corner.
