Default Newbie/ CD Player Question

Please allow me to introduce myself!

Just purchased my GS3 last week: was on maxima.org/ my car was totaled (rip 3/11)

Love the lexus so far- not a stick but the ride makes up for it!!

So for my first post- what is the best route to take as far as a cd player- car has never had one installed. Checked parts- 350 is the lowest I can find for a changer (and that's re-diculous). What are my options- and how hard is it to install? Thanks in advance!!

Hi there. Welcome. I've never heard of a GS coming without a CD player. I hope I'm not insulting you by asking you this, but did you check the glove box? Unlike most cars, the GS's CD player is hidden away in the glove compartment. Assuming it's not in there, I'm guessing your best bet is aftermarket, but I really have no idea. Good luck.

Welcome to CL! I'm a former Maxima owner (and .org member) as well. What kind of Max did you have?

i've never heard of a GS w/ no CD player.

I checked the glove box haha- I knew it didnt have a cd player when I first looked at it (it does have leather though so I can't complain too much

Aliti19- I had a 2001 Max GLE- I was in love with it- but I knew it wouldn't be the same after an accident- the GS is quite the upgrade though

Pic was taken not too long after I bought it- only had rims and tints at the time

Yup, it's a wonderful upgrade. No comparison - other than the fact that I REALLY miss the 6-speed manual.

Here was my baby:

Congrats on the new car

On your radio, is there a CD button?

Post a want to buy in the classifieds. Maybe a member might have one when they upgrade the system. Try "aliga" also....he carries oem lexus parts too.

Oh btw, a former maxima owner here too......'87
