I just hit 100K today and I was wondering are there any special requirements or precautions that I should take to make sure my engine will last as long as possible? Does anyone know how long the GS400 (2000) engine will last on average?

Proper Oil Changes, Proper Maintenance, and Change the TIming Belt, that engine will last another 100K easily.

The only special requirement I can think of is to enjoy the fact that you own a Lexus and 100K means less to that car than almost any other.

I remember one member had about 300k on his car and still sold it for 7k. Do the search thing and it should pop up. He said all he did was the maint that was scheduled and he never had any major problems. Cant remember if it was a 400 or 300 though. I think 300k on any car is impressive to me. My 85 VW Jetta has 230k on it now, and still runs great. The only oil i use in it is castrol 10-40. I know my GS will last as long without a problem. Do the sched maint, and jump on any problem that comes up as soon as u can, and you to can have a 300k car .

that's it man, once you hit 100k you just throw it away, it's done. I'm surprised it still even runs. I would just donate it to Goodwill.

It should last a good long time. 150k is my limit then the car will be sold to somebody else. I never owned a car with 100k, and mine has 97k right now
