Marty,
The service department is open until 3 pm Saturdays. The alignment was $74 BTW. I thought bit got his for $440 at Hennessy Atl?
bit,
I didn't see the e-mail when I checked @ 1:30 before I came to work today. It's almost quitting time. I gotta run out of town tomorrow (Thur) until Sun. But I'll check it when I get home tonight

Frank,
The deal bit got at Hennessey is not available anymore. When he had it done they were still figuring it out and were doing it more than once to get it right so they "guessed" at what it cost. Now they have it nailed and both they and Nalley charge the exact same $ to do the install.

So I called Lexus of South Atlanta figuring I'd get in on Frank's great suspension install deal. Guess what? They want $800. WTF?? Somebody's been smokin' some funny cigarettes.
Listen to this BS. The service rep claims that the GS 430 suspension is different from the GS 400 and it's MUCH more difficult to work on so it has to cost more. What a bunch of crap. I told the service manager that I knew he was wrong and that the suspensions were identical on both cars and the parts were identical on both cars and he gave me the "Well, I don't know what to tell you. I can only go by what my service technician tells me."
Oh well, back to plan A. I'll have the suspension done next Friday at Hennessey and the alignment done Saturday at Firestone.

I just got my L-tuned suspension kit installed on a GS430 at a dealership in Long Island, New York and I had to do some negotiating before they gave me a decent price.
During my negotiation not once did the dealership mention they had to charge more because it is a GS430 -definitely BS as you already know
Originally they wanted 5.5 hours of labor. At the end we agreed on 4.4 hours of labor at a rate of $90/hr. I figured that was somewhat reasonable since the instructions that came with L-tuned kit said ~4hours.
GOOD LUCK

. Before when i was looking at the L-tuned parts they quoted me at $707. They said it was going to take 7-9 hours to install. Also, I tried to buy a battery for my car key and the guy first said $20 then he said "oh this is a special battery, its $35
. I went to my local hardware store and bought the battery for $1.99
Well, I still find it pretty cool that the dealers will install performance parts and warranty them, but the install time is outrageous! It's 4 bolts per side front, and 3 per side rear, not including wheel removal of course. But they have impact wrenches and the best tools available, so how could they possibly take these guys 5.5 hours? And 7 - 9 hours??? What? are we paying for their freaking lunch hour as well?
Let me ask this... if someone was to install their own suspension parts, what do you guys think the consequences would be the next time that person took their car in for regular service? I'm sure that Lexus's computers are all tied together, but if you tell them you had it dealer installed, how could they prove you wrong just based on the lack of a computer entry??? Like there has never been a mistake made or data loss when a computer is used? I don't normally advocate this kind of behavior, but on something as minor as installation of shocks/struts, I just can't see paying that kind of money when I know I can do it myself. Yeah, yeah, I know... "You drive a Lexus, you should expect to pay a little more..." well true and not true. Call me a fool, but that doesn't mean I want to be parted with my money.
