Got My Borlas - Immediate Thoughts After Install
Dexter,
Thanks for posting up the pics.. Makes me what these things even more now.. HEHE..
Looks like your car has had some paint work done to it (Overspray underneath).. Can you notice anything different on your car paint wise.. I am getting my rear bumper redone in a few days but I am a bit paranoid about the colour matching up perfectly even thou this won't be my car in a few weeks it will bother me if it isn't..

Cool, thanks for the pictures...hopefully, you can get the rest up soon!
Hey, just a note to you guys who want to get exhausts put on (especially if you're going to do Universal exhausts with custom piping)...make sure that the muffled shop does NOT weld any brackets/mounts DIRECTLY to the metal of your car. It should ALWAYS be mounted using the rubbing bushings.
If they weld it directly to the metal, the vibrations will eventually break the weld (sometimes not for a year or so, sometimes only a few days!). I've seen some ghetto *** jobs on cars that come into my buddy's shop and I've seen this happen quite a bit...just FYI...

Dexter your exhaust looks great.
I just got mine via fedex and went to my exhaust guy, he was too busy, wanted me to wait till next week. i just couldnt wait another week looking at these shiny things in the box so i drove over to midas, they were more than happy to do the install. i have to say, if i had it to do again i wouldve waited.
charged me one hour of labor at $75 broke one of the bolts for the left side exhaust hanger bracket, didnt tell me about it, mustve overtorqued it with their impact wrench. now i've got to deal with extracting that broken bolt. i may just leave it for now since it's still pretty sturdy with the one other bolt in there. sucks.
they couldnt center the tips in the bumper openings, both of them tend toward the center of the car. they really manhandled the exhausts trying to get them to line up and in the process scratched up part of the car underneath, no one can see it but still. dexter, yours look perfectly aligned, mine are just off center, again, i'll probably just leave it as it is, cant really tell unless you're real close. sucks again.
what took the longest part for them was finding four nuts to replace the ones that are welded on the stockers. they finally found ones that fit and then they wanted to weld those onto the borlas. nonono, thank you. i highly recommend bringing your own nuts to whtaever shop you go to. and also the gaskets. mine were not reusable. though had they been alittle more careful in taking them off they may have been ok. the gaskets are about $8 each at the dealer and are a special ordered part and take a couple days to receive.
the techs were all nice enough in fact they all crowded around when they got it off the lift to start it up and oohed and ahhed. my initial reaction: it sounds great, especially at startup. at idle it is much quieter than i expected, very close to stock. between 1500 and 2000, it's very noticeable in the cabin, i do not like it in this rpm range. outside of this range it's fine. took a couple runs at wot up to a quarter mile and i didnt notice a whole lot of difference in sound although it is kind of hard to keep track of one thing at that speed and there's alot of wind noise especially with the windows down.
i'll test it out for at least a month before i render a final decision on it. but remember, go to a good shop, even if you have to wait, bring your own replacement nuts and new gaskets.

Congrats Dom.
I think the Borlas will be a bit of a challenge for everyone - the shop I went to (Meineke) , like Imenioned above had to heat the pipes to maneuver them to center, so those waiting, take Doms advice and go to a good shop to have them done - I guess I got lucky. Mine, like Doms, were all kinds of out of whack when they first put them on.
Now, on the bolts and nuts thing: my tech had no problem at all with any of the hardware; I watched him the whole time and he never went and got any replacement bolts, nuts, anything - just reused the existing gaskets....he used an air wrech to take of the stock nuts and that took all of 15 secs for each side and had my OEM exhaust off in under 10 min. I dunno. Of course bring your own certainly can't hurt matters, so I'd do it.
You thought on sounds are dead on with my experiences so far - I love it. Today was the first day I turned on the sereo since I got 'em!
Small side story: I had this kid pull along side me today in a riced out Civic and rev, big eat **** grin on his face - normally, I would pay no attention, but I glady shifted into N, and gave give a little sumthin sumthin for his ride home  priceless look on his face, then he drove off and normal RPMs
Now I have the grin everytime I fire up The Blue.
