Ok guys so check out what happened.... I've had my gs400 for sale for about a month and some time... always got attention but never found a serious buyer..... i was asking 14,000 for it.... 98' silver on black, 87,000 miles... tonight this kid calls me and tells me hes downstairs if its possible for me to come down, i accepted....he told me he owned a gs400 and it was his favorite car, he was driving a black on black 2002 es 300, with 50,000 miles. Offered me a straight trade so i took it. Im gonna end up selling the car anyway but im pretty sure i can get more money for the 2002 es than my 98 gs...... do u guys think i made the right choice? let me know oh yeah.....i AM getting another gs.

I think that was definately a smart move on your part. You can definately sell it upper teens, maybe even $20K. That kid wasn't thinking at all.

Sweet move...
Especially with the Blk // Blk ordeal, not to mention 4 years newer and 37,000 miles less. I think you'll sell this a lot faster and make some cash for the new GS. That extra cash can be put aside for MODS .

Good luck! Keep us updated!

im excited dudes. i was kinda thinkin whether it would be a smart move to do it.... then i thought.....hmmm....im getting a black on black 2002 with 55,000 miles for my 98 gs400 with 87,000 miles......my car needed a bit of work...his is intact, mine has no service records, he gave me all of his records the interior looks brand spanking new as well as the exterior and most importantly i didnt give him one cent.

Does he have the title, or just a set of keys?

Tone that has to be the biggest trade since Shaq got traded to Miami. You came out lovely in this deal. The Queens crew new your GS quite well You can get some good cash for that ES.. This time around, take some of us with you when you shop for your new GS.

Clear title?
Sure sounds like a great deal. One question I have is did you get the title for the ES? If so, is there a secured party listed on the title? If yes, then you are risking that he may not pay off the loan. Any bank or financial instutution will not release the lien until it is paid off (they don't care if you traded your vehicle for his...they could still reposess the vehicle from you if he does not pay the loan off). I don't mean to scare you, just wanted to raise the issue. If the title is free and clear of any lienholders, then you have no worries!

*staring at the title*

it reads... "NO LIENS RECORDED*
