hesitation after timing belt replacement
and now I feel a slight hesitation between 1500 and 3000 rpms. After 3000 the thing just shoots off like a rocket. It almost feels like a turbo charger kicking in at 3000. It is that pronounced. I only drove the car about 700 miles before I replaced the belt so I don't have alot of previous feedback to go on but I think it was much more consistent across the power band than it is now. I hope it is just me here and not something wrong with the car. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am going to speculate now, so take this with a grain of salt. The power curve can be influenced by changing the relative position of the camshaft(s) and the crankshaft. This will result in valves opening later or earlier (and closing later or earlier). The idea behind the variable camshaft timing is based on that principle.
Now, if the belt was installed incorrectly, you could in theory see an effect like you describe, but then again, it could be a number of other things too.
The only way to find out would be to check if the marks on the crankshaft pulley and the camshaft pulleys align as designed. This information can be found in the shop manual.
