Alrighty guys.

This a follouw up to the thread Iposted last week:

https://www.clublexus.com/vb/showthr...threadid=19798

Here are the pictures from my install of the M6s today.

The most convincing of course is the side-by-side comparison and closeness in color when the headlights are turned on.

I have several more pics than these, but am posting the ones I thought would be most important.

Looks great! Before / after really shows the difference these little babies make.

I assume you needed none of the 'extra' implements we used on mine including, but not limited to:

1) coat hangers
2) duct tape
3) chewing gum
4) flexible straws
5) shop vac

Dexter,

Great post.. My only worry is that I have read the M6 is too strong a bulb and you will in a few months fry your wiring harness and blacken the inside of the center lenses..

I hope I am wrong about this but I read alot of earlier posts and they warned about the M6.. Keep us posted how it works and if you have no problems then I might end up doing this minor but great looking mod.. Hope you get your Borla's soon!

That's correct; I usally like to watch and learn the first time, so I was able to side step those little challenges.

One thing that I did notice this time is this:

the wiring harness / cab;e is threaded along the rim of the housing, so when you need that extra 1/4" of cable, you can just tug it out of the rim a hair.

Kind of hard to explain without a pic; I can post one later if anyone thinks it would be beneficial.

I hope so too!

I hope that most of the other ka-booms have been due to mishandling of the bulbs with bare hands.

This almost always will cause the premature rupture of a bulb, esp within a semi-closed environmnet such as the housing.

I will keep you guys posted.

I can tell you this from driving around last night: even though the bulbs don't put any more light down on the road, they seem to improve visibility of the large green hiway signs - the bulbs really lights em up well; more of a reflective quality, not just the headlights hitting the signs.....

Dex-
How's the Polarg holding up. It's been a while since installed it. What do we tell the doomsayers that it will fry the harness, so on and so forth...

Let us know.

Still going strong at 18w with nary an issue!

I really belive the key is wearing gloves during the install / keeping the oils off the bulb is of utmost importance.
