I just bought a 00 GS 3, and noticed that the previous owner had no records of injector cleaning. I took the car oever to a local expressway ( something like jiffylube ) and the mechanic who seemed to be knowledgable told me that injector cleaning only helps with gas comsumption. I think that he is wrong cuz my brother had his cleaned recently, and said the car accelerates much better than b4. Could someone please point me in the right direction so i will known in the future.

 

Unless the previous owner used really crappy gas (87 Octane), I would not worry about it. From time to time I pour some fuel cleaner in my tank as a precaution even though I'm running 91.

Just something to think about, no where in the Lexus services do they do an injector cleaning.

 

Even the best of gasolines leave crud on the injectors over time. It is petrol after all, deposit city USA. I would get it professionally done every 15k.

 

I used Lucas fuel system treatment in my 98 GS400 recently and thought it worked great. I had some pining under WOT with 93 octane and now it's gone. I also am getting about 2 MPG more. YMMV
