Just went to my local Lexus dealer and requested a replacement air refiner element part #Lx87139-30010,
and was stunned when he told me the cost was $41.00!This is the filtration filter that fits in the glovebox. This is a flimsy filter that cannot cost more than $2.00 to make!
I would try cleaning but it seems to flimsy to withstand it. What do you folks do? Any cheap source for routine parts?

You guys are ridiculously spoiled. Go visit the Mercedes or BMW dealership and get back to me on replacement parts. Come on. Do you pick pennies out of the fountain also? And before you flame I am all for frugality.

I keep all of your comments on my ghetto mod list ha ha:eek:
better yet, I took the air filter out and wash it with water, dry it and put it back, cost 2 cent of water ha ha
can you beat that

smart move man, 2.99 vs 20, what a saving

I just "sweet talk" with my tech guy at the dealer and they do my car work for free

just got my whole plastic thingy under the car (cover the bottom of the engine) replace for free LOL

wait!!!...Replacement parts aren't cheap for a lexus either buddy! What you think if i owned a MB or a BMW i wouldn't buy my filter at Home Depot or my battery at Shoprite??

Dude Lexus doesn't make a "High Powered Super Nuclear Remote Battery" it's all the same $#!%

Saving $17 is 3/4 a tank of gas or a really nice meal out!
I don't feel like i'm "picking pennies out of a fountain" I'm just being smart with my money.

Oh and that wasn't a flame just self defense.

Charcoal removes odors from the air. Just an air filter will remove dust/pollen, etc.

Obviously it's not worth $41 though!
