Default GS/ES steering wheels

OK, I know this stuff has been talked about before but I could not find a thread about this. It appears that a 2001 ES steering wheel is the same as a 2001+ GS steering wheel. Does anyone know if this is correct?

I know for a fact that ES doesn't have e-shift and 01+ GS3 does. I think that all ES have a 4 point steering wheel instead of a 3 point like the GS.

Not quite The 2002-2006 ES has the 3-point steering wheel design. The pic below is off of a '05 ES330.

thx-that's why I italicized the word think. I knew the wheel was different on the 05 & 04 loaners that I've had but I couldn't quite remember what.
the 3 and 9 o'clock positions where you put your hands on the ES is much fatter than my GS. It doesn't feel as sporty.

Was there ever an ES steering wheel that looks just like a 2001+ GS430?

I don't think so. the SC430 wheel is just like the GS430 wheel though.

Thanks, I was looking at a steering wheel that was mis-labeled as an ES wheel but is really a GS wheel.

The 2005 definitely has a different wheel (pictured above), but 2004 appears to have almost the same one:

and another 2004:

Even if the dimensions are the same, there are no stereo volume buttons.

That is exactly what I saw on Ebay and tought it looked exactly like the GS wheel. I wonder if you can add the GS volume control to that wheel?

Also, be careful with the color. The ES wood is redder than the GS wood.

I did not even think of that . Well, I ended up buying it anyway. For the price I paid, I could probably have it stripped and refinished if it does not match up correctly. If all else fails, I guess I could just resell it. I really want a wood steering wheel but I did not want to spend $400 having it redone. Thanks for all the input.
