Comparing the GS

I say just keep driving your car and mod it to get rid of the "boat feel".
and when you have enough money, you can turbo it.

I agree with you, besides selli'n

If you don't like the boat feel, but a smaller, lighter car. Maybe a sports car? The GS is a LUXURY car. It was built to carry 5 people around in comfort and style.
Why do people insist on making a car something it was never designed to be?

I love my 300, i dont go to the track, dont feel like i need to run away from something in that much of a hurry. I drive it to show it off, and look good. Not to drag, race. Yes i do agree, it's better to have to much than to not have enough but i think the 300 has enough power for me to do what i want to do. Just my .02
I don't come into contact with many other GS owners. A couple of weeks ago, I happened to be in Seattle watching the Seahwaks destroy the Panthers. After the game we were pulling into the Outback and some Seattle fans in a GS were in front of us. I asked the guy driving how he liked his car. He said "I love the car, but I wish I would have bought a GS 430 instead"
So far, I have had every person I have talked to say the same thing: "I wish it was a 430"

You'll be perfectly satisfied with the 300...just make sure you don't test drive a 400/430. The difference in power is amazing.
FWIW, I loved my last gen GS300. But it's hard to compare to my current GS. Just something about that V8. As a bonus, the gas mileage b/t the 300 and 400/430 is very similar.

If you want more power get the 400. If you want even more power, strap a turbo on the 300 and it will annihilate the 400.
The handling (boat feel) can certainly be gotten rid of completely. All you need to do is to spend a couple of G's and get
- Coilover Suspension (Tein Flex or Tein CS)
- Stiffer sway bars
- Stiffer LCB's (lower chassis braces)
As far as comparing the handling to a VW Golf - you can forget that. No matter what you do to your GS short of reducing it's weight by 1000 lbs, you will never ever be able to make it feel like a light Golf. It is simple physics - imagine hurling a 3800 lb car around a corner compared to hurling a less than 3000 lb car around the same corner.....................
Absolutely no comparison. There is a reason why the best sports cars (not the high hp monsters built for the quarter mile - like the uber Benz's) weigh roughly around 3000 lbs. Race cars like Formula 1 cars weigh even less. The weight factor is crucial for handling superiority.
