Different Nav Consoles on 2001 GS
Hello,
I've been looking into the purchase of either an LS400 (98-2000) or GS400/430 (2000-2002). While browsing online classifieds for a couple different 2001 GS430s, I noticed two variations of the center console Nav screen area. The first resembled all the other GS's of that period, nothing too sleek. The other had more wood, and was a lot more modern looking and curvy. They were both listed as 2001 GS 430s, and both had Nav. Even the steering wheel was a more modern looking too. I think much of the front interior was different.. I'll try and go back and find the pics if anyone wants to check it out. Anyone know whats up with this? Thanks

If you notice the steering wheel leather is tan in the picture of the front seat, but the leather is black on the picture of the cluster/console.
If you want the more luxury look, you could buy the aftermarket wood kit and and install it around the radio and such. That is my plans for my GS430.
Althought the shifter in the one car made me think if Lexus had developed and automatic/manual shifter of some sort now. Very interesting.
