I have a 1999 GS 300 that has just recently started making a ticking sound. I pulled the valve covers when I was changing the timing belt. I checked all of the valve clearances like the FSM says. all of the valve clearances were within spec (well except for two intake valves which had .055 clearance, FSM says .060). I've searched the forum and have found a lot about the injectors ticking. Is there any solution to this? I don't really want to buy new injectors but the ticking sound is driving me crazy.

 

How are your engine mounts? Also crud on the injectors can do that too.. Professional fuel injectin cleaning can quiet the injectors too

 

I used synthetic fuel injector cleaner in my 00 300,& the injectors shut right up.
