If you start to use the Normal Gas of 87 you will start to hear the dreaded ping-ping sound we all hate for cheaper gas. Stick with the good stuff, she'll treat you right if you treat her right. I use 93 cuz that the highest we have up here. 87 or 89 are my other options so I stick with 93...in all my cars and trucks.

93 Octane on my `98 GS400 with 203k miles. I live in NH where 93 is standard for major brands and found Shell to give approximately one more MPG than other brands. Typically, I'm getting 21-22 MPG in Winter and 22-24 in Spring through Fall with 50% back roads and 50% highway driving.

Premium. Well, as "premium" as 91 octane can be anyways...

I'm not surprised at all by the poll results either.

yeah exactly my thoughts...she gets way too cranky if you dont give her what she wants anyway...not to be an ***, but my feeling is if you're driving a lexus and you cant afford to put the RIGHT/required gas in it to drive it..then you probably shouldnt be driving it in the first place.....buy a honda, ive owned two in the past (still have one in fact for the winter) awesome on gas, and you can drop 87 octane in them all day! (unless youre an idiot like me and motorswapped your winter car, in which case i now have to run 93 anyway lol).....

Only premium.

I use to be cheap when I first got my GS...since I hadn't owned a car with real horsepower in such a long time, I didn't think twice about it. But man o'man did I ever notice a differnce when I switched to using 93 octane.

The car came to life and I was laying down rubber from every stop...until I got a ticket for get this...display of acceleration. I wasn't even speeding. What the heck is that? Yes, I got acceleration.

Premium only (93 Grade). Sucks...cause I have a Lincoln Aviator as well, and it hurts filling 'em both at the pump!
