Default question about intake and exhaust

hey guys, well i've done the basic stuff to my 02 gs300. wheels, lowered, spoiler, lights, stereo. but now i'm looking at more engine related stuff. i've looked into an intake and a header and "y" pipe. my concern is will any of these mod's set off engine lights? the intake i looked at was the injen short ram, the "y" pipe was a racing pipe and had no cats on the header only a resonator just before the "y". it still had all the spots for o2 sensors. my only worry is setting off that lovely little light on the dash. has anyone done these mod's or know what might happen! thanks for all the help!!!

well i have the SRT intake and race ecu as well as the hks exhaust and i didnt have problems with check engine lights. iam not sure you might get the check engine light if you remove the cats due to the comp running the car rich on fuel but dont quote me on that

I have the SRT Intake with the race ECU and you shouldn't get any check engine lights (CEL), but you will get one if you change out your headers that don't have cats. I changed my headers and I got a CEL. I had to get some emulators, other people have gotten simulators (sims). Either one will do.

If you decide to change your headers, here the link where I got my emulators from: http://www.casperselectronics.com/ Just give them a call, they're very helpful and know what you need. You'll need two, one on the header and the other under the passenger floor board. Get the plugin ones, no soldering.

Yes, you will need the Toyota brand. You will need two, because the cats in the header will be gone and that's one of the readings that will cause your CEL. I'm not even 100% sure about the two, that's what they told me. I put the one on near the header and my mechanic put the one under the passenger floor board. I haven't received any CEL since I put the emulators on.
