Default Track run video.....

Heres the video I promised but couldn't get loaded until I shrunk it enough.

1st Test run. We threw her on the scale before and wow what a COW, 4350 lbs with me in the car. I guess chrome does weigh a lot. I only boosted to 5 psi off the line. I can get up to 9psi but the light went real fast. Since we switched her off sequential the car has more power but it doesn't boost up quick from a stop(need a TC) Well the video is not great quality but the sound does the job..

How many runs did you get in? Although 14.27 is not bad, I wanted more from your beast. I guess the weight does not help.

Thanks for sharing A.

Neo- My launch numbers are sad I did 2.4 60fts . The weight of the car is killing me. It takes me a few seconds to build boost at the line and I didn't sit there like I should have to boost up cuz I wanted to run when it turned green. I recently on the street sat there to see how Much boost I could get from a power brake stopped and I can get up to 9 psi where at the track I only waited till 4-5 psi and went at green. Its tough cuz I really don't want to shed weight off the car since its not a track car but mayb when we finally do an engine management and boost controller we'll boost her up from the 15psi she is doing now to mayb 19psi with some dyno tuning, adjust the cams from zero and I think we'll get much better numbers with the 20's....LSD with some light 18's and I think we'll see some really big differences..Little by little. But she did sound so sweet going down the track..

Also the car went from 16.6 with the old motor to 14.2 with the same mods but new motor set up. Thats shedding a whole 2.4 seconds...

I am sure it can only get better A. I am actually glad you ran it with everything on. It is one thing to see what the engine can produce but you want to know the car's realistic numbers based on the setup you drive everyday. You built the car this way for a reason after all.

Compared to other GS3s, 14.27 is great. It is, however, in the GS4x0 range. Isn't part of the point to be lower than that? Otherwise, we might as well just get the GS4x0. LOL.

Yes and no, If we get a 400 and add my mods to it, it won't do 14.2 , Stock gs4's do high 14's -low 15's but with mods like lsd,tc exhaust and intake I read they do low 14's and some have done 13.7-13.9 but none of them had 20's down the track with a reall heavy trunk. they always run on lighter smaller wheels if not the oem 17's. But your right I really want to do what ever I can with the car the way it is not putting lighter wheels to say I did lesser numbers. Its a work in progress. But she did sound sweet right?

True.

No doubt.

Does it sound like that when you drive normally? I know you had the Borlas before and they were relatively tame to help retain the Lexus luxury feel.

Neo- The car has a quiet idle only a little louder than before but when stepped on its does have a more v8 rumble sound to it now. Hard to explain since I never usually hear it from that perspective. I'm sure I'll bore you guys with tons of videos down the line

way to be A- none of the other boosted GS guys EVER post vids of a track run
I think Racerredi is the only other boosted GS I've seen run on the 1/4.

not really a bad run for first outing. you'll crack 13s next time. if you didn't have big brakes you could run some smaller, lighter wheels. I wonder if OZ Superturismo 17s clear your brakes? they are very light.

Sweet run, dude. A little more tuning and you'll have yourself a real monster there. Don't worry about the weight ... the GS was never meant to go fast in a straight line ... it was meant to look good while going slow! You are entering a different realm!
