Question about sanding bodykit for paint prep...
Mods sorry if this is in the wrong place but didn't know where to put this.
My question is about how much do you have to sand through to prep a bodykit for paint. I want to save a little on the prep work and the paint process because i have a couple extra hours on hand at night to do the work. I have wetsanded through the clear coat and a couple layers of the paint, but didn't know if i had to go all the way through to the fiberglass or the primer from before. Any info on this would help. I have been doing it by hand, and broke down and got a power sander. Both of which i am capable of doing this with, just need to know how far to go. Thanks ahead of time.

The way you stated it is correct, i'm prepping a previously painted bodykit. I have only gone so far as to take off the clear and smooth out the kit. I'm having it done by a professional and i am going from light color (previously painted) to a darker color.
