Default JDM Power Folding Mirrors

The search continues....(Old threads below)

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...olding+mirrors
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...olding+mirrors

Has anyone tried the modification ever since the last discussion on the threads above?

Let's say that the JDM Aristo mirror assemblies are able to bolt on to the GS. Now we have to deal other issues:

1. RHD vs LHD issue. I'd want the wide angle mirror to be on the passenger side of our GS, not the driver side. Is there any diffrence in shape between the Aristo and the GS mirror assemblies? I ask because I figure that I could take the GS mirrors and swap them into the Aristo assemblies.

2. Switch: I wonder if the wiring harness for the Aristo mirror switch will be 100% compatible with the GS. BTW, for those that live in Asia, like jtanoyo1, where is the switch located?

Yes, but do they power fold?

And if so your car must not be intended for the domestic US market.

That would be it.

Pressing a button to fold=power folding mirrors

Grabbing mirror with hand and folding=no power folding

I guess many markets outside NA have it?

Where are you located? Is your car a US car? I think this has something to do with why yours have power fold.

It's hard to believe that no one has tried this modification. I really wanna do this mod because when I get home from work.... I have to get out of my car, fold the mirrors, get back into my car, then drive into the garage. Then I have to unfold them in the morning.

Alright...let's do this one little step at a time. Overseas members, please help. First, could you show us a picture of the switch/buttons that are used to operate the mirrors. Second, where is the relay located. 3rd, could you show us a picture of the relay?

Do the 3rd gen US GS have this stock? In the garage next to my GS is a 02' LX470 and it has power folding mirrors. Not sure why lexus didn't put it in our cars. It would probably cost them like $10 more to do it....
