Hey all..

Just wanted to know if anyone has purchased any of the HRE wheels in the HIGH POLISHED look.. That's both the lip and the face are in high polish..

Since the little woman will be driving the GS around I figure a forged wheel like the HRE she wouldn't destroy.. I've seen Manaray's diamond cut look but before I decide I really would like to see the total high polished HRE wheel for comparison..

BTW the wheels I am looking at are 18" HRE 540's in a staggered setup with reverse lip.. Much thanks for anyone who can score me a pic.. If someone has one on a GS even better..

The high polished ones look like chrome but not quite as "deep". They're bling-bling...also, if you REALLY think you need to HAVE chrome, HRE can get the centers chrome plated for you...waste of money in my opinion, but if you HAVE to have it...

There is a SC guy on here with a Veilside kit that has the 545 in high polish...check in the gallery or user rides...

Here's a photo from their website...

hlee1169,

Thanks for posting the pic of your car.. You helped me make my decision on the wheel for the GS.. I will get the high polish face and lip on the 540's in 19" staggered.. This however puts my price range well over $3500 so what I will do is wait till winter and order the wheels and I should get them by spring.. Not sure how long it would take to get the wheels once I order them from MO @ SRT..

Got to find out if I can get the 19" with a reverse lip.. Manaray what offset would I need and what should I ask MO when I place my order.. Also what tires do you recommend I buy.. I noticed you saying the Kumho's are good tires and I think I can source those here if need be.. I have to find out what the broker fees (I think Livingston will charge me $150 CND) and excise tax is on importing wheels from the States too.. Whatever happened to FREE TRADE.. Oh well..

with the 19's, you can do the same offsets that I have...+38 in front, +37 in back. It will set the wheels out right to edge w/o rubbing (on a 8.5" front wheel and a 9.5" rear wheel)

Unfortunately, Kumho doesn't make the right size front tire (245) in 19"...

As for the build time, it can be 4-8 weeks...better get the order started!

Also, you should "consult" your wife on Large Wheel Driving skills...a curb or edged pothole will destroy anything at the right speed!

You might want to consider 18's for her and get 19's for your SC!

2SAVVY, i think 19s would look awsome on an SC... if you've already bought the LD-1s maybe put them on the GS and then get 19s for the SC.. or something...

Sasha,

I've been contemplating this all day.. The thought did run through my mind to put the 18" LD1's on the GS but I really wanted the Lowenharts for the SC.. In my humble opinion it is the perfect wheel for the SC.. As for next weekend i'm still a go to take on your dad's XK8 at Cayuga Dragway.. I'll send you email next week with the time I will get there and such..

Manaray,

The look of the 18's just looks too small for the GS and the 19's will fit the car better.. As for the wife destroying them I don't think she will and I will be sure to teach her how to drive with them on.. Although if we had the option up here to get an SC with a spare I might have with the intentions on changing those ugly factory wheels but we only get the SC as a fully loaded model.. I could however order a spare from a dealer in the States but then I have no trunk.. Hmm gotta think this one through a bit more I think..

Kodai,

Thanks for the pic of your car with the polished look.. Those are the same rimsl that Manaray has too.. When I do place my order I will check with your guy along with another from here to get the best price that I can score.. The problem is the excise tax and brokerage which i'm not sure I want to deal with.. If I source someone here then they will have to deal with all of this and I can just place my order and go from there.. I ordered my Lowenharts from a place here called Wheels Direct.. They have another store in FLA and however they did it I got my wheels up here at a cost effective price without me dealing with any hassles from customs.. Not sure if they can get HRE's thou.. Gotta call them next week to inquire..

Appreciate all the input from you guys!!
