Default installing l-tuned grill

i am installing my l-tuned grill and am running into problems with the secondary hood latch. it seems as if the stock hood latch from the old grill won't fit properly. is this a regular thing or am i just reinstalling it wrong? if i can't figure it out, i'm just gonna do without it.

did the grill come with the piece to attach the latch mechanism? When I bought mine, it didn't so I had to make one.

not bad. I think it'd look better with an L in the middle.

i shaved down the stock "L" from the old grill and its ready to be put on. i just need some double sided tape. Putting the L on was the original idea from the beginning.

I got mine from a former member, and that piece was not included.
