I've read about the difficulty of the retro of an +01 nav to a pre 01 GS, but I couldn't find information on the upgrade from a non-nav ML equipped 01 GS430 to a ML nav unit. Anyone know if it's as easy as just hooking it up?

 

kyle4381 is the only guy i know who have done this on the 01 gs430 i think. it's not going to be easy, just getting all the parts are very expensive arlready, and you need to get the harness as well. together with the installation, you might just as well get aftermarket

 

It seems every time this comes up you are the one to chime in, I knew I could count on you to respond. I was hoping that the harnes would already be in there and it would be plug and play but...

the ML nav plays DVD's, where as the other unit does not correct? Also, are there any other differences between the 2 nav units?

 

nah i did the study before already, the whole harness is different..... ever wonder why i am still with stock pioneer system?

and no.... the ML nav doesn't play dvd, not on the 01-05 gs... for 01, you can get nav and ml separately. but starting in 02, i believe ml and nav only comes in as a package
