Default 01 vs. 02 GS430 - any differences?

Hello all,
I am in the market for a used GS430. I have owned several GS400s in the past and know there was subtle differences between the 3 available model years, but I don't know too much about the differences in the 01-02-03 GS430's. I am looking most likely to purchase either an 01 or 02 model. Were there any recalls or specific options to look for? I am looking for a fully loaded NAV/ Levinson car, so if there is any differences in the NAV I'd like to know that as well. As well as any other specifics to look for on these vehicles. As I stated earlier I am a previous GS owner, just looking for some additional information. Any additional tips/ tricks would be appreciated, or if someone would direct me to a post comparing the differences that would be great as well!!

Thanks

Gino

The later you go in model years for the GS 430 the more that you will find with NAV/ML. The 01 had a premium package that was the sunroof/heated seats and something else. Then you had the ML package and then the NAV package or you could get the ML/NAV package.

I think the 02 GS had the new 7 spoke wheels instead of the 5 spokes. Maybe a new color but that is all the changes.

Actually, the 7 spoke 17s came out in 03. From 98-02, the GS 17s were 5 spoke. The 16s changed in 01 (from the 98-00 version) and I believe remained the same through the end of the 2GS model run in 2005.

Also, the DVD navi is the slightly newer gen 3 in the '02. The '01 had gen2.

2001 is the only year you can get ML w/out Nav and thus let everyone know that you know you to use a Google maps.
