One inexpensive way (compared to the $1k+ from Lexus and 300-500 on eBay) is to get clear bra on it. The clear bra will protect it, hide any small, blemishes, and in a few years if it gets bad, you can peel the film off and get more applied. The film is about $50-60. You can either tackle it yourself or hire someone and pay a bit. It would still be the less expensive solution.

Well you can get new ones from the dealer for like 1200 a piece? Or somewhere around there. I am assuming that you will want new ones because you said to replace later down the road.

A USED set of HID housings from ebay costs about 300-600 a piece depending on the condition.

Your third option is to do what I did. I bought a set of used housings from a 98 or 99 to do my HID retrofit on my car. The housing was scratched and pitted pretty bad. I did some sanding down to remove the pits and deep scratches, and then i used plastic polishing compound and a orbital buffer to make the plastic crystal clear again.

Took me about 30-40min per headlight(one headlight means one side with the two lenses included). So total time for both was about 1hr or so.

I'll post up some pix of before/after pix in a bit.

Ok, here are some pix.

Original condition. Very badly scratched and pitted.

First stage- all hand polish. Sandpaper by hand start from 200grit,400,600, 800,1000,end with 2000grit. And hand polish with plastic polish compound 5-10min.

Additional 10-15min with polish from orbital buffer. Notice the lens are pretty much crystal clear by this point.

another thing you could do is get some car wax (the one that comes in a tin) and start working it into your head lights. its gonna take awhile and your elbows will hurt, but it will clear the headlights up a lot. i would probably polish for about 15 minutes per lens.

would this do anything to my headlights? like add an extra layer of protection? because im willing to do so .. or would it ruin the headlight or not make them as clear anymore?
