Default NEED HELP!!! "CLICKING NOISE"

Im New To The Club...atleast To Posting!!! Joined A While Ago... <<<~~~lurker!!! Lol...neway I Got A Problem With My 01 Gs430... Im Not Completely Clueless But Not Really Mechanically Inclined Either, But Neway Now 2 Times My Car Wouldnt Start And When I Turn The Key It Makes A Clicking Noise. Asked Around And Was Told Might Be My Alternator Or Starter Or Just My Battery... Any Feedback Would Be Much Appreciated!!! Also While I Was Driving Battery Light Came On Once And Radio Shutoff...not My Lights...just Radio...

Have your charging system and your starter checked. It sounds like your starter is starting to go.

sounds like your battery, how old is it?

does it do it i when u start up or when u been driving it for a while? if it starts right away in the morning? and does not start when its warm up its your starter.

That's why I also recommended checking the charging system Chuck. The starter is more common than you think.

Typically, difficulty starting associated with a clicking noise when you turn the key (coming from the starter solenoid) is indicative of low battery amperage. There is enough current to close the switch in the solenoid but once closed and current sent to the starter to crank there is insufficient current to spin the starter. Battery and charging system need to be checked as either one or both may be the cause. BTW, how and why do you start each word in your post with a capital letter? Capital letters are usually only necessary for the first word in each sentance or for proper names. Seems like a very tedious process if you are hitting the shift key with each word or is there a tab somewhere that does that automatically for you?

Also, make sure you have a good connection at the battery. No loose or corroded terminals.

Its 100% the battery dont worrey about charging your battery its done. Just go get a new one for 100 bucks and all your problems will go away.

This happend to me 3 months ago.

I appreciate all the feedback guys. I think I'm going to go with the battery for now. Process of cheapest elimination. LOL. Oh and Det... to answer your question...hmmm.... I honestly dont know... I dont ever use shift, not even for beginning of sentences... I wrote the post and it automatically came up after I entered it...it might be the computer... Neway thanks again you guys and its nice to see not everything surrounding Lexus, I feel like I have to watch out for sharks!!!
