Default Instrument Cluster Trim

Hey guys, its been quite a long time since i posted on here but Ive found my way back of course! I had strayed a little while due to work and other interests (my motorcycle) and neglected the GS a bit. Now I feel its time to show her a little love again. After driving in my friends 02 GS3 I was just really dissappointed at how bland the 98-2000 interior is. The steering wheel and cluster trim make such a world of difference in making it look more modern. I want to get that trim. Anybody know any good sources on where to pick one up and about how much?

Im talking about #14 in this diagram

Thanks a bunch guys!

you can start with replacing your existing dash bezel (no. 14) on your pic with the one with the chrome rings and then buy a blackwood kit.

replacing the steering wheel is possible, but since the airbag is different, it won't be cheap to do so.

If you want the bezel only without any of the other attachments you can order it from Darrell at Sewell Lexus for about $65 last time I asked him for a quote. The wood paneled ashtray in the center console goes for about $225 new or you might find someone selling a used one who has eliminated it to make more room for ICE. You can have the steering wheel upgraded by American Stitches for about $400 so you can still use your original airbag. You won't get the chrome "L" emblem on the steering wheel though. Speaking of chrome, with some persistant searching you should be able to come up with a chrome shift bezel for the center console also about $100 (pretty pricey but Lexus stopped selling it as a separate item so basic economic principles are at play.

Chris, yes that's the price I was quoted, but just for the bezel not for any other part of the assembly. I think there are some parts you will have to transfer over to the new piece but it is much lower than the quote for the complete assembly.

Here is the setup on l-tunedparts:

It is the bezel and the wiring harness (which includes the turn signals). I could be wrong but I don't think the wiring harness is $95.

wow that sounds like a great deal for that cluster trim. I saw it on another site for like $88 i think. What is involved with the updated harness? Is it just wires and plugs or does it use different buttons and signals?

The new cluster uses a different connector. You need the wiring harness if you upgrade from the old to the new design.
