I have a 2000 Lexus GS300, and last night my lightbulb went out by the shift **** that illuminates all the gears. I understand that the center console needs to be removed. I called the dealers and received a quote for $100. Should I get the dealer to do it, or is it pretty simple to do myself. If I can take care of myself, can someone provide instructions on removing the center console. Please help.

For example I searched for "remove center console" in the GS forum and found two pages of results.... not all of them are info you need but some are spot on like this one
Thanks a million for your advise. This forum is great, it was really hard to stomach paying $100 for a $1 lightbulb and 10 minutes of work from the dealer.
