Do you guys know of any web page that sells the whole system because my friend in his '98 Lexus looking for it but Inskip Lexus in Warwick, RI was charging him $5000 is that overkill or sounds like a right prrice for it?

That system goes for like 10grand!!! hell half price is an awesome price!!
Thats how much my friend was quoted at Inskip Lexus dealer in warwick, Rhode Island if thats a good price i'll tell him when i talk to him after work. Because i first i thought that was too much, but i relized the whole system controls A/C heater etc. and that Inskip had to rewire the whole car(at least that is what they said) But $5grand still sounds expensive considering the navigation part of the system is made by Alpine part#NVE-N851A. Do you want the number to the dealer so you can call?

Here is info to the Lexus dealer where we got the quote from:

I think you will believe them more than me.
When did I accuse you of lying? Why would I do that? Ask anyone that's been here long enough and ask them would I accuse you of lying for something like this. It's not that I don't believe you, it's just that the price is ALOT lower than what others got before, and maybe there was some misunderstanding when you got the quote. btw, the installation could really cost that much.
Don't accuse someone of lying until you can prove so.
I was just assuming thats what you thought but assuming is wrong(learned my lesson once again ) Well anyways that is what they quoted even one of the tech guys got in the car to show him how everything was gonna go(remove his old factory stereo etc.) But i personaly thought $5000 was a lot, i was telling him just to go with an alipine tv/radio setup to fill up the huge space the factory stereo takes up.
considering all the labor needed, such as replacing everything, getting a new NAV antenna, wiring, etc. and also the expensive parts like the display and the harddrive, 5000 is just too good to be true. Ask them again to make sure that includes everything. If that's the final pricing, be sure to tell everyone on this board about it! i'm sure alot of people would like to add it.

It is not that involved of a project. The wiring is already there. You just need to get the hard drive, GPS, antenna, and the of course the expensive screen unit. The screen unit being the most expensive. Almost a plugand play type install. Lexus does not produce different chassis numbers for Nav or no nav. All the same to cut cost.
Ok I have a navi system for sale for $1000 it includes hard drive and navi head unit the wires u gonna have to find I did a major upgrade to my Lexus and dont need the oem setup at all

I'm not saying don't list it for that - do what you want, but i know the going rate of these things.
When you can find a headunit in good shape on car-part.com [which is generally the most expensive source from salvage yards] for 200$ no disk drive, it says a lot...
A screen on ebay is 400$, and disk drive for another 200$
^ LOL!! 11 year old thread dude...
And you're not getting 1k for that... maybe 400$ for something that old. The 01+ can be had for around 500$ ish if you look.
