nop, no more aristo in japan, just GS
but dunno, i had the same feeling too. i have both the aristo and the soarer badges on my gs400 and sc430. i wonder if one day i get the new LS, should i put on the celsior badge?

1st and 2nd gen GS, yes they have Aristo heritage, the new one, nope.

There are just too many differences in the original and the USDM versions.
Whats in a name?
The GS's sold in the USA aren't Aristo's and now the ones in Japan aren't either. The 3rd gen GS obviously takes design cues from BOTH the 1st AND 2nd Gen GS. 1+2 = 3. Pretty easy to me, if the GS was intended to be a different model line they'd've started a new name, instead, they decided to CONTINUE the GS lineage and take note of the styling's of the previous 2 generations and create.... the 3rd Gen GS.
To say the 3rd gen GS is a brand new car and has nothing in common with it's 2 predecessors would be the same as trying to argue about evolution.
