Need to find out what is draining your battery? Is the starter okay? Is the alternator going bad?

I'm thinking its not the alternator because when i had the battery cahnged out @ NTB they checked it and didnt say if it was bad...I am taking it to the dealer on Monday but hopefully its something small I have had my car for 3 years now and NEVER (knock on wood) had a problem before...

its cool no worries

make sure you battery cables are tight and check the clamps for cracks

a loose cable is like a loose belt ..it doesnt work properly

and Now you know ...and knowing is half the battle ....

yea, sounds like a starter problem. Probably not broken, but just worn down. Worn down starters will require more juice, and a 1/2 charged battery will not do it. Also, do you have an aftmkt alarm system? Those are notorious for draining old batteries.

mine has been doing that as of late, but its because one of the connectors to the battery keep giggling loose. I end up having to tighten it or hit it with a wrench to put it in place and the car starts right up. Will probably be at sears this weekend to see if they can change the connector ...

Coming from a Strange Rover I know all too well about that. But I Never would flatbed it to the Stealership. Land Rover is notorious. Even with a Lex as has been pointed out, you still must examine your terminal coonections and wires. Too many times I've been stranded because of this. I would have saved myself alot of money and time had I known this.

It was just loose and dirty battery connectors the dealer cleaned and tightened them, gave me Krispy Kreme and sent me out for a weekend in a '05 RX ... But upon further inspection they said i need to have my front lower ball joints replaced (I'm searchin what this is now) for 700 bucks...I guess if it aint one thing its another

Default Lower ball joints

I had the same problem, get pricing from another shop. The ball joints were only about $80 each and the labor was gonna be $200 but after the job was done they said it was easier and quicker than the job called for so they only charged me $175 labor.

once they rebuild the contacts on a lexus/toyota starter they are as good as new, motors in them are top notch and pretty much never go bad.
bad after 3 years kinda sucks though, mine went bad after 11.

The dealer always gives me a loaner even when I just get oil changes they have damn near a fleet of RX's and ES' but I promise you the service manager calls me sounding like if i even look @ my car too long its gonna blow up EVERYTIME i take it in...As always i get my loaner, my Krispy Kreme, and have them clean my baby up and go on my merry way...i.e to install new brakes and rotors (already purchased, in my trunk from Carson) 550.00 bucks NO THANK YOU!
