Default thinking about getting a tte lip and modding the front bumper...

i borrowed davezaristo's picture, hope you dont mind!

well a few years back i hit a raccoon and it ruined the bottom part of my front bumper, the grille looking part parallel to the fog lights.

i've been thinking about getting a tte lip.... i plan to get a shop to redo my front bumper, fill in plate holes, remove grille looking part, and adding tte lip...

so heres a PS of the outcome im trying to achieve... what do you guys think about going with this look? BTW doing this would just get the ball rolling for a turbokit that has a mean a$$ fmic *ahem* jpi i'll be calling you soon...

By removing those horizontal slats on the bumper will that decrease the stability of the front bumper? I also thought about that but was concerned if there will be problems with removing those slats

yup. I'd bet if you don't have some kind of vertical slats to support it, the bottom would sag down.

Since you're asking. I like the 2nd pic better, but the first doesn't look bad.

Look at CL members "JAY"s car. He cut the slats except for the ones next to the fogs and has the AbFlug front lip. Look really good. Another member with a white GS painted his slats black which looked good too.

well about the saggin question... my "grille looking part" is already crapped from the racoon most of the vertical slants have snapped off.

i'll leave space to mount the fogs... im tryhing to figure out how heavy the tte lip is so i can guestimate what i need to get done for it not to sagg

You're better of replacing the bumper cover, unless you can repair it like I did.

You won't be able to make it look right once you remove the grille, and you'll see whatever you use in its place.

Default Likin it

Hey Joshoowa,
I like the second one with the horizontal bars (factory). I was thinking about getting the TTE Lip for my car myself. Do you like the Greddy Lip for the GS? Do you know a good place in houston to do paint and stuff and install lip. I saw your car pics on HI.

Thanks,
Johnny

hey johnny yeah i know a guy through a friend that does good stuff... this past wednesday he repainted my friends silver 02' rsx... he pulled a dent out of the rear quarter panel, filled spoiler holes, and repainted the trunk and quarter panel... he even painted the inside of the trunk..

the paint matched up real nice and theres not orange peel either...

i like the greddy lip but its too agressive for me taste...

edit: forgot to mention that he only charged him 300bucks to do everything.

here it is with the TTE lip. This is one without the new intercooler in place. Now it looks much better.
