Default Key Question

I have a 01 GS430 and just purchased a spare key online. This key is from another GS430. Is it possible to program the transponder on this key to work as a spare for my car? I have a Master key for my car. I searched the forums and found instructions on how to program a key for 98+ but that did not work for me. Can someone plese shed some light on this issue.

Thanks,

P.S: So I call the Lexus dealership and they are telling me that on the 01 GS430 if the key was once programmed to the ECU of another car, it cannot be re-programmed to work on my car. Is this true? Anyone have any info on this?

Check out post #5 with the instructions.

But since you got a key that wasnt cut for your car, how are you going to program it?
