I don't notice any savings in gas using snow mode. And I drive 100+ miles round trip a day.

There are also alot of people on my.IS that can echo this sentiment.

if i'm driving slow, people most likely will go around me.
If the past couple of days are any indication, people in Dallas are driving slower. I normally hit 80-85 during my commute, but the past couple of mornings we all seem to be happy at 70 mph.

I found myself looking at a Prius online at my local dealer... I then came to my senses and realized how much gas $29,000 really would buy

This was more of a rehtorical/ curiosity question for me than anything.... my GS is mostly a garage queen and with the SC it guzzles gas like a madman. The LS does pretty good on gas 24 -28 highway, about 18-20 around town and that car sees the most action

Ryan - isn't most of your driving 100+ mpd on the highway? If so, snow isn't going to get you anything noticable. Only if you did it 90% city with lots of stop/go which is what I do most of the time.

I actually did this a lot when I first bought mine and flipside is right, very little if no improvement in fuel mileage between snow and normal. I noticed maybe a 0.5mpg difference at best?

I also noticed when I hit the snow button when I'm already cruising steady state that the engine power seems to take a dump too...so maybe the timing is retarded along with the shift points...

I didn't know cruise can save gas? I thought if you kept driving at a constant rpm (don't pass people or floor it)....pretty much what cruise does. Then your gas mileage will be the same with or without cruise? What MPH are you going to get 25mpg in cruise (60-65)? I'm going to drive down to my friend's place in a week thats 125 miles away. If I can get 25mpg it would be great! Especially on a round trip. Save me about $7. Then with that extra $7 I can spend on gas the next day

Hei dave!!!

I was just about to tell you to just use the LS! My LS for some reason saves more gas than the GS300. I did try the snow mode and normal mode thing on the LS. It saves a little gas. Overall when I reset the computer to log the next tank fillup, the average mpg just went up about 1 mpg. I get around 17-19 mpg average per tank but sometimes, when I drive the LS hard, I get 15-16 mpg. pretty much all traffic here on Guam is stop and go because avery 500-800 feet, there is a freakin stoplight which usually stops.
I've tried flooring the car with snow mode.. it still reaches around 2.5k-3.5k rpm. I usually never accellerate above 2krpm in my normal driving. (this is with the 17-19mpg)... hard driving... flooring like a madman gets me usually 16.8mpg. The lowest I have gotten was when i stayed in my car idle for 3 straight hours sleeping and waiting for my girlfriend while she was shopping. (i know i shouldnt have fallen asleep in the car.. but couldnt help it). anyway, that's my exp.
