Unhappy warning lights and beeping

Oh man that is a lot of loot. These are great cars, but when something goes wrong it seems like they are very expensive to repair.

Was that a Lexus dealer telling you that?

If you can figure out what part needs replacing you can order it thru one of the Club Lexus venders ie Sewell or Carson and then have someone install it. That would save some money.

ABS is very important and that beeping has got to be awfull. I'm sure someone with more knowledge of brakes will chirp in

Good luck

like Ivan said, you can probably save hundreds buying the part from Sewell or Carson. It would be worth it even if you have to pay the dealer a diagnostic fee to find out exactly what you need.

I agree with Johnny. Have someone else look at it. That's a lot of coin for a lil bit of work.

I had the same problem before. It's the brake master cylinder. Mine was covered under warranty, but I noticed the bill was around $1600

I had the same problem, ended up being complete brake master cylinder(electronic brake module part of cylinder asy), found a used complete cylinder asy out of a 2000 gs400 for 400.00 and my local lexus dealer actually installed it for 200.00.

There is always cheaper ways to solve problem. Find out the problem and try to locate the parts yourself and just have someone you trust to put in. Dealer always always charge a whole lot.
ESpecially our Fletcher Jones Lexus here.

ask the dealership for a copy of your repair order... legally they have to copy it for you.. and it'll have everything the mechanic wrote down to get replaced..

Default sounded like the master cylinder

If it is the cause. The GS master cylinder is on the driver side up against firewall. Since the master cyliner unit w/ abs system build in one unit. And yes it cost $1800 part alone. Please find a trusted shop to perform this operation. Due to the ABS build in and a special air bleed operation is required.
