L-Tuned without warranty?
OK, I know lots of us love the L-tuned suspension (and exhaust and steering) but is it really the best out there? I can understand staying with L-tuned if you desire to keep you warranty, and on a $50K+ car who could blame you.
My question is, my car is a '98 and is nearing 70K miles. When I upgrade my rubber, I would also like to upgrade the suspension. Since warranty is no longer a factor, should I go L-tuned or can I do better for my money?
I do want a good ride quality, but I want something I can notice. I have to admit, while I do enjoy the steering ECU, it is not a night and day difference. That is fine for $120. I do not want to spend around $1K and have something that is just a 'little' different.

hello,
suspension mod, along w/many others, are very personal. when you said, is it the best? it all depends how you like the ride. l-tune suits many well for its subtle increase in firmness of handling. since many lex owners are not seeking harsh ride, l-tune would be the best.
the only way to retain warranty w/l-tune is to have the dealers do the install for ~$4-700, which many members shy away from this high cost.
for ~$550 l-tune is priced very reasonably. but if you want something more noticeable, either Eibach springs or HR springs combine w/BILSTEINS shocks would be the way to go. this pkg costs ~$675-700. HR spring is ~$25 morethan the eibachs. i can get a set of bilsteins to your door for $425. the spring costs ~250-275.
if you want to spend over $1k, then coil-overs would be your best bet. most of them offer height adjustibility.
since warranty is now a non-issue, you have many choices. the best thing to do is find some one in your area w/any of the above choices and go for a ride.

it's not the warranty that makes the L-Tuned good, it's the ride comfort. I didn't get mine installed at the dealer because I didn't want them to rip me off, but the comfort is still there with L-TUned.
I have the H&R w/ bilstein combo and i love it! The ride is a bit harsh but you also have to take into consideration that I have 20's on. The ride quality will be better if you have smaller wheels of course. The drop in the front is perfect.
I have around 1/4 inch of wheelwell space in the front and 1/2 inch of space in the rear.
