Guys,

Had to take off my front wheels to install my bodykit. Anyway, after I installed the kit I put the wheels back on. When I was driving home I was getting some steering wheel vibration. So, I thought I had not tightened the lugs properly so I stopped and re-tightened them.

Still didn't help so I got home, jacked up the car and spun the drivers side wheel. Well, it wasn't spinning properly, looked like the wheel was bent. I knew my AME's weren't bent so I pulled off the wheel and this fell out.



Is this something that was on the inside of the wheel or was this mounted on the hub?? I am driving with it off and everything is fine. No more shake.

So what is it and do I need to replace it??

isnt that a hub centric ring? Just replace it with a new one for your rims. It's to make your rims fit snug on the Hub

 

That's your centering ring. When you reinstalled you wheels, it looks like you did not have your wheel lined up properly to the hub - that's why its all bent up. You should replace it, it helps to keep your wheel centered properly on the hub.

 

I agree with everyone else, its your hub ring.....

its definately hub ring, when putting wheel back on when you were tightening lugs it pinched your ring and that is the disfigurement on the ring,

LOL - they will be here shortly. I will take some tomorrow night. It looks hot!! Today was the first day to drive with it on and I had people pulling up next to me giving me for my car. Always feels good!!

yep, hub centric ring.

Believe it or not, last weekend I found out that one of mine was bent

I suggest changing it, b/c it causes your front end to be out of balance and rattle at high speeds.

 

Yeah... Ide really like to get into a 2nd gen GS or even a 1st Gen GS.... OR a 2nd Gen LS.. LOL Soon. I still would like to keep my Coupe though. Is been really good to me.. (i'll post some pics once I finish it)

When I saw the pic, I knew it looked like a hub ring, but I've never seen one so bent up. Strange....
