When ever some punk *** kid pops off about his fast little econobox, I just look over at him, eye him and his car up and down and say snobbily "You bought what you could afford, I bought what I could afford".....

Makes a whole lotta sense BMW (M3), Audi (S4)and Benz (C32AMG) have been doing it for years. Lexus knows whats up. This is the begining stages of their emphasis on performance. *****, for years now they had the Luxury and Reliability down. This was inevitable.

Well I guess you are right LexLaw....And if Lexus is going after BMW then I think many people wil like the power of the IS350 and pick Lex over BMW!!!!! But I would really like to see that IS V8 that is being rumored go into production to compete with the awesome M3!!!! That is a real challenge but would be very cool!!

And while they're at it a GS competitor for M5/E55!!! in the meantime I'll wait for the SC430 prices to come down a lil more, so I can cop it. That way I'll get the CLK off of my mind for good.

Well Bmw's next generation m3 will have a 400 **** v8 which is a dirivative of the m5 v10. Watch out out But I thinks that v8 IS will suprise the critics. I want A hp GS. It is supposed to be competion to the 5 series. Lexus is losing in the performance department right now. Peformance models will be resurgance of the proverb "When something wicked this way comes"

Maybe we will get more power one day..... This thread comes up like 10 times a month. Fact is most people are happy with their Lexus.......

Look at the quote below and run off to tell Lexus their doing something wrong.........

"Lexus passenger cars posted best-ever July sales with 13,757 units, an increase of 17.5 percent. Sales momentum continued with best-ever July sales of the GS 300, which posted sales of 2,785 units and an increase of 315.5 percent, while the GS 430 posted sales of 589, an increase of 333.8 percent. The ES 330 entry luxury sedan enjoyed best-ever July sales of 6,810, an increase of 6.0 percent over the same period last year.

Lexus Division light trucks posted July sales of 12,805 units, up 2.6 percent. The LX 470 full-size luxury utility vehicle sales rose 41.4 percent in July for a total of 893 units. The GX 470 recorded best-ever July sales of 2,847 units, an increase of 5.0 percent. The 2006 RX 400h, launched in April as the world's first luxury hybrid vehicle, reported sales of 2,262 units for the month. The RX 330 and RX 400h posted combined July sales of 9,065 units. "

I'M CONTENT WITH MY 300 - I MEAN IT STILL MOVES, BUT MY POINT IS THAT WE PAY FOR A LEXUS, BUT YET WE GOT KIAS AND HYUNDAIS THAT'LL GIVE US A RUN.

BESIDES I GOT THE GS3 FOR A STEAL.

KOOLAID - I KNOW IT'S A LUXURY CAR MADE FOR COMFORT NOT SPEED - BUT WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO IT BEING A "PERFORMANCE LUXURY SEDAN".

NEED MORE PERFORMANCE - IF LEXUS IS COMPARIBLE TO BMW AND MERCEDES - THEN IT MUST BE A COMFORT COMPARISON AND NOT PERFORMANCE - CAUSE AMG IS GETTING SICKER BY THE DAY AND THE M3 AND M5 AIN'T NO JOKE.

My 430 has no problems with Kias or Hyundias

Luxury and speed should go hand in hand. You want to get where your going fast and in style. All the posh luxury cars coming to market have high performance engines. The king of luxury cars the Maybach has a twin turbo 500 plus horsepower engine. If you just want luxury with no speed then get a Buick. We do need more power
