Pixels Burning out on Factory Stereo
I have the Lexus Premium Sound system and some of the pixels come and go on the dash. Is there anyway to fix this, or do I have to replace the unit. Does anyone have a used one that works?
If you mean the digital characters being illegible, yes that is and has been a problem with some units. My first 99 GS4 had this problem when I bought it in October 2003, and though the dealership promised to fix it, they never did. I wound up calling Lexus Customer Service, and even though the car was well out of warranty, they replaced the entire radio as a gesture of goodwill, including installation. The radio costs about $600 from parts, by the way.
There are a few companies on the web that fix those as well, but the names escape me at the moment. If I get the opportunity, I will put those contacts in another message.
Thanks

Sorry I don't have links to them but you can replace just the LCD panel. I think it is between $100-$200 so it is still cheaper than the $600. Do a search to see what comes up. Other members have hit this issue before.
