If the Brembo is a 4 piston only, dont expect it to offer any better performance than the stock SupraTT caliper.....Like Miguel mentioned on another thread, you are paying twice as much just for the Brembo logo instead of the Supra logo.....Miguel, please correct me if Im wrong....Tiny
I think the Brembo system has a larger pad and a larger, thicker rotor. The same number or pistons doesn't necessarily mean the same performance...
Granted, you have to ask if the Brembo system is worth nearly 4 times more the price...
As good of a deal as the Supra system is, I just can't stand the word "SUPRA" being on the calipers... hey, I think someone with a grinder and a powder coating system can make a few extra bucks grinding those off...
Then, with that nice blank caliper, people can just LEAVE IT BLANK.
Or they can put Steve's name on it!

I think that the Brembos would have a little mroe quality than the Supra TT brakes.
They do have a larger pad area as well.
I am opting for the BRembos becuase a firend of mine races and can get me a set for a really good deal.
I still have yet to see the price.
I would love AP racing brakes but they just too much $$$.
Anyone ever deal with Baer systems?
Go to Baer.com...they speak very highly of their systems. I am wondering if they are all talk or for real.
They even say make 12 piston brakes.....that sounds insane.
I am with Manaray.....I love Supras but I own a Lexus.....I dont want a supra name on my car.
I think the Brembos will look good with the wheels I plan on getting (HRE 547s).
Thanks for your help guys.
MIKE
p.s. can anyone with Brembos vouch for their performance?

Tony Nguyen sent me this
Yes I have brand new Brembo Rotors for your GS3 or GS4 instock and ready to ship. These are OEM which mean they drop right into the stock location and require nothing else. These come drilled/slotted or anyway you want them (just drilled or just slotted). These cost $340 + shipping by UPS for all 4 rotors. If you need new brake pads, I have Axxis Metal Master pads available and will throw it in for $100 for all 4.
Let me know if you're interested,
Tony

Spartan - Great choice. If you can get the Brembos for a killer deal, they will not disappoint! I have driven a few different cars with Brembo brakes and they work great! It's definitely an improvement!
Congrats on the wheels too! Good choice! I have HRE 543s.
Don't forget to take some pictures of your ride once you get the "good stuff" on there...love to see some picts of the wheels with the brakes...
Do you have a picture of the Brembo system your buddy is hooking you up with? I'm curious to see which caliper and rotor you're going to get...
If you can get a killer price on it, maybe you can offer it to other Club Lexus members for a good price...
As for Baer, I have SEEN a lot of the Baer system on Civics (that are NOT ricers...if they were, they would have just taken a marker and drawn crossdrilled holes and slots
) but I've never test the system out.
They do use Alcon calipers which are excellent. Brabus also uses Alcon calipers on their brake system for Mercedes...

Ok, this is for those of you who think "my stock brakes are good enough"...I was checking out Baers website and I came across these charts...
Granted, they did test with a '96 Impala (a tank even compared to the GS) but you get the point...
Just a little explaination before you check the chart out...
The numbers on the bottom are like this...
1, 2, 3, 4, etc.. = number of stops. So 1 is the first time they did it, then they did it again, which is #2, etc., etc...shows brake fade...
The numbers underneath that are number of feet it too to stop...stock compared to their Pro+ system. According to them, the Pro+ system is a 4 piston Alcon caliper with a 13.5" rotor (upgradeable to 14"...this test was probably done with a 14"
)
There are two charts, the first is a 100 to 0 test and the second is a 60 to 0 test...notice the CONSISTANCY of the upgraded brake system...NO BRAKE FADE.

Coincidentaly, I just caught a program on TNN that was about the different levels of the Baer braking systems....Forgot the name of the show but it is hosted by two gear heads who routinely build show quality engines, etc. in the 30 min. show..(they cut to commercial and come back having done what looks to be three days worth of involved engine work) Anyway, the Baer have traditionally been a domestic brake system, just starting to branch into the Jap. car market probably because there is finally a larger demand.....They highlighted all the levels of brakes offered for street apps, and even the Baer systems that were for racing but compatible with some street rides...REALLY nice looking, granted I didnt know what I was looking at...Tiny
Well I sent some email to the guys at Baer and they said there isn't enough "demand" to make Toyota/Lexus brakes. They're more interested in American "muscle cars"...Camaros, Corvettes, and other such garbage...Oh well, loss business to them...
I guess Brembo and AP Racing will have to make all the money off us...
