Question

Can't decide on 18" Blitz type 03 in 18x9 front and 18x10 rear. Or Lowenhart BR5 or LD1. There is a black Gs in the gallery with the Blitz wheels, would love to know who own's it. Blitz for 2001 makes the type 03 in a chrome like finish, called Blitz silver. Any info or pics would be greatly appreciated.

john,

it all depends on which factor you weigh more in:sports or elegance. the blk gs is y2kgs car, i saw it in person at the LA meet last month, very nice.

type 03 in blitz silver is very nice, more sporty look..

br5-hint of sporty with blend of elegance

ld1-more elegant flavor, this is way lowenhart usually put ld1s on their luxury vip cars for advertising print media.

personally, i would take either br5s or ld1s.

hotlex400,

Thats my car with the chrome Blitx 03. It depends on what you like the most. Both rims looks nice on the GS but I think theres too many GS with the lowenhart ld1 or will be. Look at both rims on the GS to see which one you like more.
If you deside on getting the Blitz than get them in sliver or chrome.

HotLex:

Having just placed my order for BR5's, I think you'd be lunatic to go with anything else...

But seriously, if you call Phil at autoaddictions.com, he can hook you up with a really good price (I went with 18x8.5 in front and 19x9.5 in rear, machined finish). He is very knowledgable and a cool guy to deal with.

Default Lowenhart LD1

I'm probably the wrong person to ask but i'm seriously biased towards the LD1.. Like Will said its very elegant and I personally think its sporty looking as well.. I'll attach a few pics from 2 Club Lexus GS owners who helped me in my decision to buy the LD1's.. BTW guys if you see this post and you know who you are.. Thanks again for helping!!

Y2KGS,

Just had to say.. What a beautiful car.. The Mrs wants me to tell you she gives it 2 thumbs up!!
Do you intend on doing anything to the grill or are you done with your ride??

Hey Savvy,

Thanks alot for your kind words. I'm not planning on changing the grill cause I like the grill as is. maybe if I find something I really like. The TRD grill looks nice but it takes away what makes a Lexus. I see alot if Honda's that has the grill which looks like the TRD for the Lexus.
I got my side skirts on not to long ago. I will post more pics. when all is done. Might get the IMC hood later on but once I finish on sides than I will hopefully work on the proformance side
I like the LD1 but not in chrome. It looks much better the way it is. The problem with the LD1 is I think one to many are getting them for their GS. As for the BR5, don't really care for them.
Which ever one you deside on will look nice on the GS.
love my ride!!!

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I think im leaning towards the Blitz. Hey Y2KGS thanks for the pics. Did you get your rims chrome or is that the Blitz silver finish. Also what width do you have and where did you get them. I would appreciate a up close side view of your car.If you did chrome them do you like them better and what they cost you. I know alot of members like the LD1 but I think they look good in 20" I live in Manhattan were they would'nt last to long and also I see them on alot of cars and suv's here.

hotlex400

yes, I got my rims custom chrome not to long ago. Find out if they offer the 03 chrome or in sliver. I think their sliver looks just like chrome but not to sure. Love the way they look in chrome plus looks better on a black car.
i got them from my friends shop which also has a GS.

front> 18x8.5 245
rear> 18x10 275

hope this picture will help

Y2KGS

Thanks for all your help. Do you have the # for your friends shop. Maybe he can give me a good deal. Also I saw a pic of the 03 in the 2001 Blitz catalog and they did look chrome but they are not. They call them Blitz silver, but i want to see them in person.

sure, give him a call and he'll give you a deal on the rims and with tires if your looking for a complete package. Just make sure that you don't go with the nikko tires.
Here is a picture of my rims before I got it chrome

hotlex - i have the same rims as y2kgs but my car is white - if you want to see the rims e-mail me at tts@airmail.net

y2kgs its ernie - i'm still thinking about the intake from swift racing. will it truly add 30 horses and will it be noticeable before i spend $800.

thanks,
ernie

installing the intake from Swift will help alot. you will notice the difference from mid to high end. As for the 30 more HR. I have to say yes and on the swiftlexus site you will find a dyno sheet. Go for it and get the intake

Hey Y2kgs, are those really 18" rims? They sure look bigger than 18". Looks sporty and yet elegant!

NICE!
