Well I decided to test my current setup on my way home from the beach.

My current setup is Intrax swaybars in the front and TRD swaybars in the rear. Unusual setup I know but it seems to work. My suspension is using Tein HA coil-overs that are adjusted for a stiff feeling but not to an extreme. Just enough to allow the swaybars work to their full effect. Also tires are SO-2 Pole Positions 295's in the rear and 245's in the front. Makes you wonder if it will cause the car to understeer heavily.

There is this freeway exit near my house that is a long downhill 180 degree road perfect for testing the car. *Disclaimer* Do not try this at home.

For measurements I am using a G-Tech meter to measure both instantaneous G's and continuous G's. To keep me in my leather seat I use a four point harness from Sabelt that keeps me snug tighter then a python grip.

Now let's continue on what happen. As I approach my exit I could see no one in front of me, which set me up for a high speed run into the 180 degree sweeper.

Normally this turn is set for 25mph max but as I came into the turn I was doing 55mph. As I came into the turn I was wondering whether I would oversteer or understeer initially. Neither. I actually was in a neutral stance with a slight four wheel drift. This was great but I wanted to upset the balance of the car so I let off the accelerator abruptly. The rear never slip but did give me a warning that it wanted to. Then I slammed the accelerator trying to cause the car to oversteer which it did but barely. Then I just floored the accelerator for the rest of the turn and the car squatted and went very very fast with balance. The steering wheel gave me plenty of road feel and if the car did oversteer I knew that with a nudge of the wheel I would of counterbalance with ease.

After all is said and done my G-Tech Pro was reading a tad over 1.0 G of cornering force. Impressive from a car that is over 4000 pounds.

Oh and by the way, I love this luxury four door sedan.

Nothing like the open road and the sounds of tires squealing and the supercharger whining.

The strut braces in the front of the car is TRD Japan one piece units. The one in the back is a CUSCO unit from Japan.

If I did not have a four point harness on my face and chest would of been mashed against the driver side window.

What impress me was not the amout of lateral G's this car can pull but how comfortable and forgiving it is at the limit. In a race I can be very consistant with the forgiving nature of my modded Lexus then with a car that is twitchy all the time at it's limit but slighty faster.

Personally I like a car to oversteer (rally days) but for a fast street vehicle a very slight degree of understeer is safer.

Pretty impressive. I have a g-tech pro and hardly ever used it. I measured my 1/4 mile time once and that about it. I never even tried to measure my G's. You have inspired me to use it again after it sat im my closet for 6 months I dont think I have the instruction book for it anymore. Are you supposed to turn the unit sideways for measuring G's? I thought I remember reading something like that

No way....18's the largest size I would go with on the street especially with the way I drive.

Mike - You Couldn't Run 1.0G on 19's? even light ones?
also, do you have the TRD lower chassis brace?

Black IS3 - You put the G-Tech Sideways and into press the button when you first plug it in when its flashing on either lateral, or turning or something. Then you start turning and see if the G's start going up. if not then press the button (sorry cant remember exact) then start again, DO NOT press the button after you are done, the highest G's will remain lit until you press the button, pressing it will reset it. if you're doing continius G's it will measure the g-force that is has been over for 3 seconds lets say it went .80 - .81 - .79 even though you went to .81, since you went down to .79 in the three seconds it will say .79 (or average i can't remember) so do your best turning for 3 seconds min. the other Lateral G-Force mode just measures the G-force you get a one point in time, lets say you throw your car to the side you could pull 1.3G's but you would probobly spin out and crash (a lot of this is from the book, i'm just remembering some of it) so the continus G's is the one you should use.

DakaDan - My GS3 ran about .73 and the GS4 is about .79 - .81 i think...
