Default Paint Job

I'm not sure if this is posted in the right forum, but I guess this would be the best place to start.

If any of you live in Philly, you know Germantown Ave. is a pretty bad place for a lowered car. The roads are HORRIBLE !

Anyways, it has been about 10 months since I've had the car and so far I hit a racoon resulting in a crack in my Quest Lip, and a whollllllle bunch of scratches trying to get up and down the parking lot at school and parallel parking and stuff. The scratches aren't deep and aren't in any visible parts of the car, except maybe underneath the rear bumper along the sides. So I'm planning on getting my car buffed and repainted and what not after I get my Quest Lip repaired. How much am I looking at for a full paintjob for the GS? I'm not sure what color I want to make it.

Right now, it's Millenium Silver on Black interior. I was thinking I'd make my car black (i've always loved black cars), but the silver is so much easier to maintain. I don't think I want to repaint it silver again. I was also thinking maybe a custom color, like Gunmetal or something.

Any input/help would be nice.

Black you want a black car and you thought you could see the scratches on silver black is a whole new ball game my friend take it from someone who owned a black car. The scratches are endless on black and the up keep is very hard as well maybe others can chime in to and tell you how the maintenance on black is. As soon as you wash and wax it seems like it attracts more dust than ever or maybe because it clean. I say stick with the silver as I think it's one of the best factory colors unless you totally custom.

haha yeah.. I had a Black Pathfinder and that was hard to maintain. i didn't even really care about the car. imagine having my GS in black and being paranoid about it. It would be really hard to take care of. But once I get the car painted, It won't be heading down philly anymore. Im going to keep it at home in the driveway over a cover and only unleash it during the weekends. But that was the main reason I'm hesitating about black simply because it is so hard to maintain.

I was thinking graphite of flint mica like chuck posted. I like the color but it's also dark. It might be hard to maintain also like the black.

Should I just keep the car silver for now? It has scratches but are really noticeable unless you're looking for them. Should I just buff the scratches out and save the painting for later?

don't paint it black, if you are going to repaint the whole car do a custom silver like the late camren did. "god bless his soul", he painted his car a nice gunmetal type silver and it looked just awesome...someone probably has a pic of it ..

I agree not worth it to paint a stock color. You have the opprotunity to be different go for it. How about copying the guy who did mercedes s class color.

With the quest lip it would look cool. .....

haha i think camren (RIP) painted his car Titanium. I remember when he was going around screaming TITANIUM !!! TIE TAY KNEE UHM !!! hahaha cool guy he was...

yeah... i know black is really hard to take care of which is the only thing that's drawing me away from black. But black does look pretty darn sexy when it's fresh yano?

i'm thinking a dark gunmetal like color. Like dark metallic silver or something. Something silverish but much darker.

I think gunmetal or something in that range will look sick on your ride

I saw his car around town about a month ago I had clients in my car or I would have pulled the owner over maybe it was his pop's or mom not sure. His color was very very nice. Black is nice but it's up to you how many times a week you wana wash your car.
