Or at least that's what I promised my wife...

Last night, my brother-in-law and I installed the SRT/HFI system. All in all, the install took about 2.5 hours because we took our time and we also had to remove the TRD strut bar to get to the engine cover. We got cute and decided to clean out the throttle body...

Well, when we put everything together and started the engine, it would not turn over. Fearing that we had installed something wrong, we switched the position of the MAF sensor. This time car turned over but stalled immediately. We then realized that usually it takes a while for the engine to start once the throttle body is cleaned and that we actually had the MAF sensor in the right position after all! So we switched the MAF sensor position and VOILA everything was fine and dandy so we actually could have finished in under 2 hours...

First impressions...I DO notice the HP increase especially when the car is already moving 30-50mph. Also, for those that have aftermarket exhaust, I noticed a more gurgling sound as opposed to a smooth, flat tone as before. Is that normal? Is that what the intake resonator on the stock setup removes? It definitely sounds like a muscle car now which I like!

A tip for those going to install: I don't know if SRT included this in their instructions or not but we used the rubber sleeve from the stock piece that connects to the throttle body. We slipped that same rubber sleeve over the silicon hose provided by SRT. The reason being is that the silicon hose was quite a bit larger than the throttle body and we were concerned that we would run into fitment problems with just the hose clamp. (It wouldn't be a tight seal because the silicon hose might have to deform too much to attach to the smaller diameter of the throttle body.) If anybody is interested I can post pics of what I am talking about...Anyway,

GREAT PRODUCT!!! I LOVE IT A LOT!!
