Thanks for the complimets guys. I really appreciate it. When me and my installer were working on this I thought to myself, seems like a lot of work but when it was done oh man what a setup, I love it way more than the flip out and when I get the new Alpine NAVI I will be all set.

D-you know I just try to keep up and your beautiful car has always kept me motivated brotha.

audio28- I think it is sold, I say think because I sold it on ebay but the seller has not paid me yet. He has until tomm then i am going to relist it. Pm me if you want.

maaloxx-It is the Alpine 6.5" TME-770 touchscreen. I thought about the carPc but my Alpine DVA-7996 does everything I need it to.

Rom- No way Jose, the climate controls I think should be down there from the factory, so easy to access and you don't really have to look at it either. It is better than i thought it would be. When I first started I had the climate controls in the glove box but that obviously didn't work lol.

Blue- Obviously I value your opinion seeing how nice your car is. This summer we shall finally come together with D and get that photoshoot

Look great. Good choice on equipement. I myself am running 2 TME-M770s in my RX330 along with the VPE-S431 A/V expansion unit. I used to run the DVA-7996 in my other car as well. Great unit. By the way, what was wrong with your D300? I was planning on picking up the new D310 when it comes out. Was it just the flip out screen is combersome or were there actual problems with the unit? I wanted to flush mount a M770 in my RX, but there is just no more room left for a headunit after that. I hate the dash layout in the new Lexus cars as it makes adding aftermarket units much harder.

You said it, the 300 was simply combersome, always flipping in and out, dropping down to get at the heater controls, me and my girl just got sick of it. It was either this mod or the new Pioneer double din and that would have been too easy lol
As for equipment yes this is real good stuff. I was somewhat pssed because I wanted the new DVA glidetouch but Alpine said it would not ship this year so I had to resort to the 7996. I also had the hxa-701 processor but the 7996 doesn't control it and I didn';t ant to find a spot for the controller so the processor was lost int he shuffle.

if you dont mind sharing how much did each thing cost and total price and headache time... that looks awsome and looks like something I wouldn mind having done. Is that alpine unit a dvd player as well i would imagine and did you end up getting a new 6 disc changer?

Dang, I swear the folks down in CL are getting more and more custom everyday. D2 is right. Looks like a drop, a kit and some big wheels are not enough these days to play with the ballers! I am lovin' this new ideas and pushing of the envelope!

Well the cost I paid is dealer cost because I run a audio shop but MAP pricing is as follows.
The DVA-7996 sells for about $1200-1300
TME-770 sells for about $600-700
Time it took to complete well we worked on it on and off but if we worked strait through prolly around 4-6 hours. The process isn'tt hat difficult now that we did it once you know.

Thanks Jon, coming from you it is a huge compliment because you are always pushing the envelope. Did you finish your new setup yet?

That just looks plain sick and awesome as I already mentioned to you on IM!!!!

Now all you got to do is to take it apart, send the HVAC and the custom mount for your HU and screen and get that wood grain finish to match the OEM wood pieces!!!

Awesome job lexis11
Early in my stereo upgrade, I wanted to put the climate control "IN" the armrest, but after pulling that out, I didn't realize it was that deep If it was just the face, then it would've been perfect

I want to do the same thing too, when the new pioneer avic d1 comes in along with the dsp eq.
