I'm interested in upgrading my Brakes. I don't have a GS400 and my car is not supercharged. I have a plain ol GS300 with a few mods so I don't need to upgrade to the brembo, AP, or supra brake system. What I'm interested in are the slotted and cross drilled rotors that go with the stock calipers. Anyone have any experience with them? They cost under $300 for the fronts (I believe they are powerslot). IMO, it's a pretty good deal for improved braking. Any thoughts? Comments? Thanks.

Presario, slotting and cross-drilling are strategies to improve heat dissapation of your rotors. This results in less fade with heavy (such as racing) usage. It does not otherwise improve braking performance in the form of better feel or shorter stopping distances. So unless you are going to be using them hard, slotted and/or cross drilled rotors are essentially a cosmetic improvement.

Not that that's a bad thing, just something you should know before you spend your hard-earned bucks. Upgrade your pads if you want to shorten your stopping distances with more or less stock rotors. But also be aware that "better" = likely shorter pad life.

Thumbs up Moore's point

we had an extensive discussion on break improvements a while back, and MOORE pretty much concised them into 2 paragraphs.

if i were to upgrade, these would be my options:

1.just get the TRD/TOMS pads

2.for three hundred and more, i would simply get the supra TT system for ~$650.

i derived the above conclusion based on the old discussion and help from steve at carson toyota

Hey aristov300,
where did you get those rotors? I'm really interested at that price!!! They look awesome. Do they improve your brake performance/feel? Can you install them yourself? Thanks.

Does the supra TT system come with slotted/cross-drilled rotors? And is it 650 for all 4 rotors + 4 pads?

I am thinking

$650 for the supra TT
$650 for the SRT HFI/ECU
$650 for TRD LSD
$1k for the SRT TC
$1k for all the TRD handling bars (no rear trunk bar)
$800 for S-03 pole positions

$5k spent wisely in my opinion

Aristo, pretty tight wheels and I like your rotors also.

Default Nano,

The Supra TT brake does not come with slotted/cross drilled rotors. The RMM upgrade comes with slotted rotors. Mine is the early version of RMM SupraTT brake, it came with slotted/cross drilled ones.

BTW, TRD LSD is $800 + installation(~500).

Dennis,

The RMM Supra TT brake upgrade comes with 2 4-pot calipers, 2 stainless steel lines, 2 slotted rotors and semi-matalic pads. I paid the extra $100 and got TRD pads.
