Default steering ecu help-please

I just bought l-tuned steering ecu, removed old ecu and noticed same parts#s and same serial #s on both ecu's,are they the same because i thought that the 1998 gs400 didn't have the updated steering ecu. parts# off both ecu's-89650-30570,ser# off both ecu's-078300-0982,both are brown in color with blue receptacle for plug. Thank you for any help.

they actually do look almost identical if I remember and the only way you'd know it was the right one was if you installed it and the steering got tighter afterward

if not, looks like you got robbed for $130 or whatever you paid

Thanks guys for the quick replies to my post, I installed the ecu and noticed a difference in the tightness of the steering wheel,,just was a little concerned that I spent $130.00 for the same as stock ecu.

I believe because there's no hardware difference, just the programming.

Please make sure you use permanent marker to identify the old part or destroy it. We should do our part to ensure the old part does not get into circulation as a "ltuned part"
