Default lexus needs to recall starter

I and a number of other people have complained about the same (Click) starter problem. They need to do something about this but they wont because they (dealer) continue to make money on the part. 50K and need a starter, This sucks. We should also put this on the list for Know problems such as the door actuator.

You may want to check to battery first, if you haven’t already.
Most Lexus/Toyota starters are good for about 7 to 10 Years/100k Miles.

funny that thsi past weekend i talked to my long time mechanic about the starter. he has worked on no less than 200 gs (let alone all the other es and sc he has worked on). he said the starter problem is really random. he has so far seen 3 gs with 80k miles and bad starter, but he has seen some sc with 200k miles and the starter finally gives in

he has no idea why, but at least the rate is small (of al lthe cars he worked on)

My starter went out at about 85k miles. The door lock actuator went out at about 70k. The navigation antenna stopped working at 60k miles. The rear door light sensor went out at 90k. The car stalled a few times on me last month and the check engine went on. They replaced the transmission speed and OD sensor. My car is a lemon.
